Snowwhite
2010
Selim Gunes has completed the shootings of the long film "Snowwhite" based on the story of Sabahattin Ali called “Ayran”, which he wrote the script for and which he directed. The postproduction goes on, so that the movie is expected to be featured by the end of 2010.

The photography album “Istanbul City of the Lodos Winds” of Selim Gunes, who says: “I photograph Istanbul, the city I know and like,” reminds of a visual diary, which the photo artist has worked on since his childhood... The album may contain photos, which he took during the years 2000-2006. Yet it is his Istanbul kept in frames. This fascinating city he met with on a day, at which the Lodos winds floated the Bosphorus in 1972...

The intersection of continents and multitude of cultures, Istanbul has always provided inspiration to those who turned towards it, with its unique geography and illustrious history. In order to convey the classical side of today's Istanbul that carries traces of the past, we therefore used black-and-white and colour photography together as more appropriate to the multi-cultural and colourful make-up of the city.
